Dr Alex Strathmore

Dr Alex Strathmore finished the Doctor of Medicine at the University of Melbourne in 2018. He completed his Basic Physician Training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and was awarded the Bryan Hudson Medal in 2022. He subsequently undertook specialty Rheumatology training across multiple hospitals including St Vincent’s, Austin, Northern and Western Health.
Dr Strathmore has both experience and interest in managing a wide range of rheumatological conditions, including inflammatory arthritis, gout, vasculitis and myositis. He is focused on holistic patient-centred care, empowering patients through education and the important influence lifestyle changes has on the management of disease.
He is passionate about education of medical students and junior doctors and holds a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education.
Outside of work, he is a loving father to one young child and a golden retriever, and enjoys hiking, woodworking and golf.
